CONNECTION JOURNAL / ARRANGEMENTS

Read an annual notice by its date

The agreement’s start date and the wording accepted at that time matter. Do not assume a neighbour’s adjustment describes yours.

New-contract rules

From 17 January 2025, Ofcom’s rules require any specified in-contract rise in a new agreement to be stated upfront in pounds and pence, with timing clear.

02

Older agreements

An older agreement can have different wording. Read the actual contract and later notice rather than applying a current headline to an historic account.

03

Unexpected wording

Compare the notice with the accepted terms. If it is unclear or appears different, ask the provider about the applicable rights and process. Individual circumstances cannot be settled by a general article.

04

Keep the evidence

Retain the contract summary, dated notice and provider response. We omit plan amounts and do not calculate or forecast a personal bill.
