Check the destination
Find the country in the provider’s current list. Border areas, ferries, aircraft and satellite connections can be treated differently from a normal terrestrial network.
Access and fair use
Read any roaming access condition, allowance and fair-use restriction. A plan called unlimited in the UK may have an overseas limit.
Calls versus data
International calling from the UK is separate from roaming. Incoming calls, special numbers and app calls can also need separate checks.
Device settings
For dual SIM, choose the intended data line and inspect data-switching settings. Read the arrival message from the provider and keep it for reference.
